Centres d'intérêts:

Responsable scientifique d'Opération Cétacés. A l'origine de la création d'Opération Cétacés, j'ai développé différents projets de recherches sur les mammifères marins de Nouvelle Calédonie.

Le sujet d'étude principal porte sur les baleines à bosse qui hivernent dans les lagons de Nouvelle Calédonie mais d'autres espèces sont également étudiées comme les deux espèces de dauphins les plus fréquentes autour de la Grande Terre (le Grand dauphin de l'Indo Pacifique et le dauphin à long bec) ou le dugong.

Chaque année je supervise une équipe de recherche dont le but est de collecter entre juillet et  septembre, des données scientifiques sur les baleines à bosse incluant des identifications photographiques, des collectes d'échantillons, des enregistrements acoustiques. Depuis quelques années nous utilisons également la télémétrie satellitaire afin de connaitre l'usage des lagons et d'identifier les zones de nutrition de la population.
